About Us

Who We Are

Brownie Points is Black-owned and operated. All goods are designed by Texas-born, LA-based artist/comedian, Rinny Perkins.

How We Got Here

What started out as Rinny's 70s-inspired collages and self-published zines in 2017 turned into this fully fleshed out shop where we celebrate showing up as we are and that means not holding our tongue when it comes to dating, sexuality and mental health.

Our Core Values

We aim to remain as sustainable as possible. That means we're using recyclable packaging and limiting plastic in product and production. Our candle vessels are 100% re-usable. We love using them for plant cuttings, storing make-up brushes and art supplies. Our velvet jewelry pouches are made to be reused when traveling. Nobody likes getting their necklaces tangled up in their skincare products when traveling.

Where We Give Back

Organizations like the Project Row Houses of Houston in support of their continued commitment to programs that promote sustainable art and community enrichment in the historically Black neighborhood of Third Ward in Houston, TX (also the neighborhood where Rinny grew up). In the past, we've also supported organizations like A Long Walk Home, a non-profit organization committed to ending violence against women and girls.
